The

SIMPLE GOSPEL

Prince of Peace - Akiane Kramarik

The Good News

The good news is God loves you! He loves you beyond measure and He has a purpose for you and a plan to give you an abundant life more than you could imagine. We were created to be in an eternal relationship with God, and it is His desire for us to know and understand Him personally.

You may be asking yourself then 'if we were created for a relationship with God, why does  He seem so distant?' Good question! Well, in the beginning man walked with God  - he talked with God, listened to His instruction and lived his life in perfect peace. for eternity. But there came a time when God's enemy tempted man and told him that he could be like God and rule his own life. Man gave in to this temptation and chose his own path, giving up his right to eternity in God's presence, and sentenced all mankind to the same fate - "Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned" Romans 5:12

Ever since this time man has tried to recreate the relationship we were born for, outside of God The result has been selfish gain, broken relationships, sickness, suffering and lack of purpose.

Throughout history God has not been silent. He has continually called to man and promised that whoever walks in His ways will live and prosper and that their days will be prolonged in the land. But we are a stubborn people, and unless we realise our need for God, we will never experience His promise or understand our purpose.

The other good news is that God has made a way for us to enter in to the promise and our purpose! "for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

Jesus came to earth as a man , dying on the cross for our sin and after 3 days he rose from the dead, opening the door to eternal relationship with God.

What does believing in Jesus mean for ME?

Free to live
unashamed
and guilt free

Philippians

3:13-15

Believing in Jesus means we are now free. Jesus chose to pay the price of death so that we wouldn't have to.  Through His sacrifice we have been saved from eternal death and brought into the family of God and will now spend eternity with him.

WE  ARE  FREE :

Free to discover
who I am

Psalm

139

Free from sickness &
disease

Psalm

103:1-5

Free to discover my purpose

Ephesians

1:1-23

How do I get this?

Salvation is a gift. There is nothing you can ever do to earn it. It is by grace that we are saved. Jesus says in bible that  “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:15)

We see here that the first thing we need to do is repent - which means to ask for forgiveness  for living our way instead of God's way and choosing to live His way instead.

The second thing is to believe the good news (that Jesus came, died and rose for the forgiveness of sin). "For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified (made right with God), and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." (Romans 10: 10) and "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13)

What do I do now?

Let us be the first to welcome you into the family of God. It is the most rewarding decision you will make. Now that you've chosen to believe that Jesus has died for your sin, rose again and restored your relationship with God, it's time to start building your new life.

4 simple things you should begin doing :

  • Start talking to God every day - talk to Him like He's your friend - tell Him what's on your mind, share with Him your dreams, your fears, your hopes - ask Him to help you through your day

  • Find a community of believers (a church) -who will help you understand more about Jesus and will encourage you in your faith.

  • Get a Bible  - start with the New Testament (the Book of John is good to start with).       Read a little bit every day and if you have any questions, write them down so you can go back and ask some one at your church.

  • Talk to others about Jesus and this treasure you have found - tell family, friends, co-workers, anyone you meet.
